Empower you and your child/children with IT. This club is designed to introduce children to the learning benefits of technology and especially to help improve reading and spelling. In this club they can learn the following skills:
- How to research
- How to use email facility
- How to use Windows on their laptop
- About Microsoft Office (subject to availablity)
- Scratch games coding
- Learn about websites and how to create one
- How to speed up their laptop with house-keeping utilities
There is no limit to what they can learn if they really want to, if nobody knows the answer then the group can research it.
This club will be democratic with some children helping others and being guided by Sara Shebear who is an Educational Consultant who has a vast array of both educational and IT experience, see About Sara here.
It will run on Friday morning, from 10am till 12pm in Harpenden. Full details of the location will be provided once booked.
The initial trial session costs £10 per child, for age 7 upwards. Younger children may be considered. We need a minimum of 5 children to run the sessions. Child needs to bring a functional laptop that they can log into, a snack and drink (not fizzy).
An adult/carer will need to be able to stay with the child/children to help them. After the trial session, booking and payment for 5 additional sessions is required in advance for you to secure a place/s. The cost of the 5 sessions will be £40. A payment plan is available if required.
